We had the pleasure of organising a surprise bridal shower for a lovely lady who is due to get married in St Lucia later this year.
The event was organised to coincide with a bridal dress fitting and was a gift for the Bride and her four Bridesmaids. From our consultations we explored the Bride's favourite themes; as a fan of the seaside and driftwood as well as regular walks on the beach, we wanted to incorporate her favourite things into the venue decor. We used a colour scheme of white, gold and greenery (Pantone's Colour of the Year) for a glamorous, tropical feel. A subtle cherry blossom pink was added as an accent colour to create some depth.
The venue, The Whitebeam Suite, is decked in opulent copper and teal, and we wanted our tablescape to work alongside the colour scheme already in the space. We used crisp white tablecloths and napkins finished with gold cord for a slightly opulent nautical angle. A rustic bamboo table runner with palm leaves were placed under glass embossed plates for a modern twist. The centrepiece consisted of a mix of tall and low level floral arrangements including white peonies, anthuriums and banana plant leaves with scattered starfish, oyster shells and candles. Brushed bronze pineapple shaped vases and white ceramic buckets added to the tropical beach theme with white blooms adding a bridal twist to the tablescape.
Catering comprised of a mocktail 'Watermelon and Coconut Crush' followed by a selection of tea and coffee with giant slices of cakes from green tea, jasmine and raspberry jam to toffee fudge and double chocolate. Guests also received mini goody bags stuffed with confectionery adorned with a name place card made from vintage luggage tags to anchor the idea of a destination wedding.
Through careful colour matching and styling, this was the perfect portal to paradise for the Bride and her Bridesmaids.
