Branding for venues and service providers can be a tricky business. Choosing a 'personality' for both the public and your clients to connect with can be something that takes weeks, nay months, to master.
In our opinion, it can easily become the single most important part of your company's public image. Usually we have just a minuscule 3 second time-slot to connect and motivate a click or a call instigated from your public image alone. In theory, you could liken it to sticking a red-hot branding iron on everything you do... so it needs to be right.
Here's our golden rules for branding:
- Keep it simple
- Keep it appropriate
- Keep it legible
- Add personality
- Stay on-brand
Another little tip we'd suggest is to 'repeat but not exhaust' the use of your logo. Repetition is great because it reinforces and reminds your audience that you're present and ready for action. But overloading materials with one too many logos can become confusing or monotonous for the audience and prompt them to disconnect.
Re-branding is a good idea when you need a refresh but it's a costly exercise. You'll also want to make sure your customers are on board for a re-brand (as we know, many people don't like change!) - customer loyalty is a gift and we should try to keep them happy as much as possible. And once you've re-branded, don't even think about doing it again for a while. Inconsistent brands and logos cause a lack of trust in your customer base.
We've included a little example of our own branding with an image of our client pack. We developed our main logo to work well with a number of coordinating sub-brand variations to allow for a bit more corporate identity flexibility in this modern world we live in. It's important to not be too formal with branding but to always remember how important it is to be consistent.
Our big and beautiful round stickers have been created with the help of printer, FastLabels who can turn around some pretty nifty materials in the blink of an eye.
We offer a brand development service for our clients, but more than that, we offer a corporate identity appraisal which, by looking at your brand pillars and ethos, will determine how to pitch your brand visually to your customers.
